Eight people who make my days

Now we all are still in the middle of a crisis. It has changed my life as it has for so many others. I have been staying at home since last April. I only meet two people in person. One is my landlord. He is generous. I play the guitar loudly sometimes but he’s never complained. Rather he encourages me to play more. When I don’t play the guitar, he is worried and says “Koda-san, I haven’t heard you playing guitar lately, are you alright?” I tell him I will make more noise. Another person I see is his wife. She often brings me dishes she cooked. So they are like family to me. In addition to them, I have six friends to talk to online constantly. Almost every day, I talk to my friend in Chicago. We’ve known each other for twenty-two years. She lives alone as well so our conversation benefits each other. I also have five conversation partners from all over the world. I met them through the online English Program. All of them are reliable and punctual. I can count on them. Each person has different opinions. Naturally, sometimes our conversations don’t go well and I can’t agree with them. But after talking with them more often, I am able to understand their points of view and able to know myself better. Coronavirus made me unemployed. At the same time, I got these precious people and time in return. Conversations with them make my days. They push me out of bed. I can improve my English and learn many things I don’t know as well. I’m not sure if I’d survive without work and no one to talk to. I will be alright even in this tough time because I have these eight people.
